I love the idea of carrying a kernel of silence with us. I’m imagining it as a chestnut or pebble that I have in my pocket and can wrap my fingers around ❤️
That’s why I pick up conkers at this time of year - they are perfect for keeping in my coat pocket and holding while keeping my hands warm or walking along. I just gave away my most recent haul to my nephews so I need to find one or two more before winter…
Turns out the horse chestnut trees near me are done with conkers and now into 🍁 making deep piles of leaves to swish through (which I did with gusto, looking for any remaining conkers!) Good job I have a collection of nicely sized (and beautiful) pebbles from the beach to carry with me till next year!
I had never heard of a fog bow - but I have seen one appear in clouds on a rainless day. It was a particularly poignant moment - they are an unusual and very special phenomenon. I am loving your book (sadly my dog ate the cover but luckily left all the pages intact.
I came across this piece this morning by what I thought was accident. Perhaps not. I'll be following from now on. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous work.
Hi Laura, a beautiful piece I agree like so many others. I understand your thirst for peace and how the fog speaks to you. I always wish we had fog here, leave alone fog bows. This the second time this week I read about them. Susie from @ahillandi too. There is something about fog that inspires the writer in us. As if because we cannot see in front of us we are forced to look inward which in a busy house is not an easy thing to get the chance to do. Thank you for bringing its magic to me…and others to be reminded of the beauty of peace and how it allows us to think so much more clearly
What a beautiful post. It feels like a painting has shivered into life in your words x
Thank you so much, dear Katy. 🤍

This sounds like a most worthwhile experience! Sometimes things like retreats turn into exactly what you need them to be.
This is so true 💫
Beautiful!

Thank you so much for reading, Louise! 💫
I felt your inner silence as you listened to your family 's chatter. Magic in the air of your words.
P.S. I view misty mornings with a welcoming smile after reading your book.
