Long woodlands wanders being planned now, it’s a great month to look at the wonderful lichen on the trees too, with their beauty allowed to shine without distraction of all those flighty autumnal leaves:) I will reassess my feelings for November having read this lovely piece Laura, thank you.
I really enjoyed reading this - thank you Laura. I've just started reading Chasing Fog and am loving it so far; it is really helping me to enjoy my favourite season all the more.
This is so lovely to hear, thank you! 💚 I’m so glad you're reading the book, I hope you love it. If you do, please consider sharing a review on Amazon - they make a huge difference. 📖
This is beautiful. I especially love the detail about the trees’ bare branches like lace against the clouds. I have written of the trees branches looking like veins against the sky, so I like this image as well.
Hi Laura, thank you for your writing! My copy of 'Chasing Fog' (which I bought from Dymocks Booksellers here in Australia) arrived yesterday. I am so looking forward to reading it. :)
Gorgeous. I struggle with Novembers, my seasonal depression starts to sink in and she can seem like a rather drab, empty month at times. Thank you for helping me see her beauty and potential, like the gift of a blank page, as you say.
I live in a valley, comprised of rock edges, a river, grazing and woodland. Fog is a frequent visitor, it fills the valley with inversion. At times you can climb the edges and view the fog carpet from above, illuminated by golden sunshine and blue sky. Two worlds; above and below! I adore your book. Fog is beautiful and magical.
A soft gorgeous contrast to my Australian November of bright sun, hot sand and ocean....
I have always preferred November to the month which follows. After reading your words, I am transported to her other visage, of mist and falling leaves.... something I did see last year myself, while travelling far away.
As always, I so enjoy your words. There's something a little hypnotic here and, as you influenced my feelings towards fog, I m thinking about November in a different way. The Robert Frost poem is new to me, thank you.
I loved this piece, Laura - thank you. And the Robert Frost poem was new to me, but how apt!
Today I realised that All Saints is the start of a mini-season of its own, marking out November as a time of saints and a time for the soul - there is a chance to mourn for wars and those we have loved and lost, but there is also inspiration from the great community of all who have walked this path before us. Now I want to go and get lost in the November fog!

Wow.... that made me view November in a whole new way. Thank you 💜
Oh, I’m so glad! It took me a long time to love November, but now it’s one of my favourite months. 🤍
I forgot how in love with November I was. I've been so distracted by October, but this brought me back in touch with something. Thank you!
October is so distracting! I'm glad you love November too.
