I adore walking through London streets, especially in Bloomsbury ... isn't it incredible to think of the cast of characters who passed along those squares, simultaneously or in slightly different eras?
When I’m writing, there’s always a point at which I’ll read the words aloud, sometimes recording them as a voice note & listening back on them on a walk in the woods- it feels like there is a different alchemy that happens when words are read aloud, and so I really enjoyed reading your gorgeous description of recording the audio book - reaching out through the fog for the readers hand…. Also great voice-preserving tips! ☺️
Thank you for taking us on the journey of your writing into an audiobook (quite a surreal experience I have no doubt). Thank you for sharing your ATELIER interview here, it was such a pleasure to have an insight into your creative world xx
Loved reading this! Maybe one day I will get to record an audiobook. I have pre-ordered the hard back but I may just need to do the audio too!! Cannot wait
I’ve pre-ordered from my tiny local bookstore here in Tasmania. It won’t arrive till October but I’m so looking forward to it. Thinking of you and your throat as you record the audio; it’s definitely not my favourite part of being an author but I’m convinced it makes me a better writer (I read aloud each paragraph as I write, now) x
So many lovely - and valuable - insights shared. Thank you. A series of ‘pinch me moments’. Now that’s what life is about. Even better when they’re woven into your writer’s life.
Just pre-ordered! Can't wait to read it! I got so much out of 'Little Stories of Your Life: Find your voice, share your world and tell your story', so much so that I have my own little project on the go. I'm sure this will be equally inspirational. Thanks Laura x

I love the idea of recording as a voice note and listening back. I usually make voice notes in the woods, rather than listen to them. ✨
I do that a lot too 🥰
Beautiful post
Thank you so much 💫
Pre-ordered this week and super excited to read it!
I’m so happy to hear that, thank you! 💫

Thank you for asking me such thoughtful questions! Yes, a surreal but brilliant experience… ✨

Thank you, Claire 💫

You write so beautifully, and I loved your insight into your day in London too. Can't wait to read the book.
Thank you so much, Louise 🤍✨

PS: I feel like I followed your blog back in the old days?!
I’ve been blogging since 2007 so maybe?! x
Ohh, how lovely to think of it in your hand in Tasmania soon! I agree that reading out loud has changed the way I will write in future.

Woven in to your writer’s life, yes! I love that.
