Gorgeous! And Nan Shepherd's words always.... her writing transformed how I spend time in the mountains. Can't wait for the book Laura!

Love these photos and the behind the scenes of your process of writing your book Laura! I loved the words from Nan as well. The reminder I needed to pick up my camera this week

Oh my hometown of Edinburgh has made its way into your book! I’m fairly new to Nan Shepherd’s words, but they speak to me, too ✨

Yes! A whole chapter in and around Edinburgh searching for the haar… ✨

I have a chapter featuring the haar in my own wee project. It’s about the Outer Hebrides 🌊

Congratulations! I've been noticing the shimmer but not taking the steps to express it. Recently posted on my Substack to release those inhibitions. 🌻

So interesting.. (there's something about a cemetery, especially an old one!) I love the idea of "shimmering edges" - I have this old photograph (black and white but now more sepia like) of my grandmothers bedroom window; with the starched white cotton curtain -slightly turned at the bottom by the summer breeze and lace draped over the edge of her dresser.. it feels like dreaming out loud to me) 💛

Oh goodness. Thank you for this taster. There are many landscapes here that draw me. I love the Joan Didion quote. At the edges I am recently sensing and knowing that every day now is a bonus day, that my work here is done though I would love more practice at life. Thank you. Off to pre order.
