I read 4000 Weeks recently too and it had a profound influence on me. Like you I am round about the half way point and getting to the phase of life where death and illness of my peers is starting to weigh on my mind. Living positively though, really living is the only real way forward though. Perhaps being more conscious of how time can slip away is more of a blessing than a curse - a real reminder to actually slow down and appreciate the good things.

I definitely think that a consciousness of time and the transience of moments is a blessing, although it’s sometimes hard to hold onto in the busyness of life. ✨

Happy birthday! So many rich descriptions, thank you. I'm about to turn 70, how fortunate I feel, friends, family, never made that number. I can and do design my days, who knows when I won't have that privilege.

Happy birthday! Ohh how your wonderful words took me back to my student years in Bloomsbury, studying in and around the British Library, cute coffee places and evenings in china town. While London is no longer my home, I have a weird love hate relationship with it and especially these parts of London hold so many dear memories of my early and mid 20s.

Student days always hold so many memories, don’t they? What a special place to study.
